last july at the clinic, i got to see a baby being born. it was live changing! as Lyndy (the baby) was approaching the earth, you could see God working. you could see, right in front of you, God creating another person to learn, follow, and teach His word. you could SEE God creating new life!!
i want to give the people of Haiti the medical help, who normally wouldn't have that option. this is the way He wants me to serve Him. by helping those in poverty extend their health.
i believe that life is God's, and ONLY God's. it is He who created it and if life is to end, then He is the ONLY one with the right to end it. (don't even get me start on abortions)!

life is a wonderful gift! something we only have by the grace of God. i heard a sermon once and the preacher was giving reasons why the Son of God had to sacrifice His life. (he went a little deeper than the basic "church" answers) one reason is that a life had to be given. and where does life come from?? like you said, life is God's and only God's.
"...I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again." John 10:17-18
as i read your post, i noticed something. you point everything back to God. what God wants, what His will is, God working, God creating, God as the author and authority of life. just wanted to say amen to that. it is too often Christians forget to put God at the center of everything!
